Baihao Yinzhen, founded in 1796, is one of the six major tea categories in China.
It originated in Fujian and is mainly produced in areas such as Fuding, Zherong, Zhenghe, Songxi, and Jianyang.
It is one of the top ten famous teas in China and is known as the "beauty" and "tea king" in tea.
Its appearance features a straight needle like shape, covered in white hair, resembling silver like snow, and the finished tea is about 3cm long.
Due to the fact that all the raw materials for fresh leaves are tea buds, and after being made into finished tea, the shape looks like a needle, with white hair densely covered, and the color is as white as silver, hence the name Baihao Silver Needle.
If you are preparing to store Baihao Silver Needle, first check the water content of the Baihao Silver Needle. The lower the water content, the better. The inspection method is to gently pinch with your fingers. If it is in powder form, it indicates a low water content and can be stored. On the contrary, it should be consumed as soon as possible and not suitable for prolonged use. The containers for storing white hair and silver needles should preferably be tin bottles, porcelain jars, or colored glass bottles. The container for storing tea should be dry, clean, and free from odors. After tea leaves are loaded into containers, they should be placed in a dry and ventilated place, rather than in damp, high-temperature, unclean, or exposed areas. Moreover, the storage area should not contain strong smelling items such as camphor, drugs, cosmetics, cigarettes, washing products, etc.
